On this luxury wine and food tour, designed by Portugal by Wine, we invite you to discover the Douro and Vinhos Verdes Wine Regions.
The 5-day, 4-night program includes a visit to 11 of the most prestigious wineries in Douro and Vinho Verdes region, where you will taste the best wines, gastronomy and enjoy unforgettable wine tourism experiences.
The program starts with the pick-up at Sá Carneiro Airport, in hotels, or in the city center of Porto. You will be accompanied by a chauffeur specialized in wine tourism and the entire trip will be in a premium vehicle.
After the pick-up, the trip towards the Alto Douro Vinhateiro will be full of stunning landscapes, where you will appreciate the peculiar natural beauty of this route so recognized throughout the world.
In Alto Douro Vinhateiro, the activities will begin at Quinta da Gricha, owned by Churchill's, located between Pinhão and São João da Pesqueira, near the village Ervedosa do Douro. Inaugurated in May 2017, with the aim of giving a concept and the company's wine brands, Quinta da Gricha combines its character with the modern comforts that will make you feel at home. You will know the property on a guided tour, where you will walk in the vineyards and at the historic house built in 1852, with its unique granite mills, where the importance of the terroir and the different varieties of grapes used in the production of wines will be explained. After the visit it will be time to taste the typical Douro products at a regional lunch, paired with Churchill's wines.
After lunch, our Chauffeur will take you to know one of the most beautiful spots in Douro, the Viewpoint of the National Road 222, where you can contemplate the landscape over the Douro River and Pinhão village.
The next visit will be at Quinta da Roêda, the cornerstone of the distinctive style of the Croft house, described as the jewel of port wine properties. The wines of this property, which contains some of the oldest vineyards in the Douro region, from the heart of Croft's Vintage Port wine lot. You will visit the winery on a route that includes the vineyard and the presses. It will end with the tasting of 4 Port wines, accompanied with toasted almonds.
In the late afternoon it will be time to check in at the hotel. You can choose one of the two wine estates with accommodation. Dinner, regional and chef's suggestion, will be served in the restaurant and paired with its wines.
You can choose the Wine Hotel da Quinta da Pacheca, one of the best-known units of the 'charm tourism' of the Douro Valley. With the vineyard and wine as inspiration and environment, it is oriented towards gastronomic and oenological tourism, combining the modern and avant-garde image with sobriety and elegance.
Or, alternatively, the Quinta de Ventozelo Hotel. After a buffet breakfast at the hotel with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and drive you on the 2nd day of this tour.
Activities will start with a private boat ride on the Douro River, where you will enjoy the stunning and charming landscapes of the Douro Valley. The tour will begin at the Folgosa do Douro river pier in Armamar, where you will board a sailboat and set sail on a journey through the Douro towards Pinhão.
The boat route will stop at several places to visit. The first will be one of the best properties of the Douro, Quinta do Bomfim, located in the heart of alto Douro. Owned by the Symington family, it is one of the most beautiful properties in the family, whose presence in the region dates back five generations.
Predominantly south-facing, with ample sun exposure, the schist slopes are arranged on vine terraces that have produced memorable Dow’s Vintage Port wines over the last century. On the visit you will get to know the winery, the vineyards, the tasting room, and the outdoor terrace, with stunning views of the Douro. You will also enjoy a Symington wine tasting. The next stop will be for lunch at the restaurant Cozinha da Clara, integrated in Quinta de La Rosa, where you will enjoy a regional lunch, with the typical products of the Douro, paired with the wines.
In the late afternoon, you will have free time to stroll and visit the city of Peso da Régua, considered the capital of the Douro Wine Region. Is a magnificent place, rich in historical heritage and owner of a masterful landscape.
For dinner, our Chauffeur will suggest you some options, it is up to you to decide. However, the program recommends the restaurant Castas & Pratos, camouflaged in the old railway warehouse, next to the train station Is one of the most charismatic restaurants in the region, standing out for its architecture, a breath of modernity and bold lines, with plenty of wood and an incredible cellar. After dinner it will be time to return to the hotel.

Activities will begin at Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a place of extreme beauty, in the heart of the Douro, municipality of Sabrosa, Vila Real, owned by the Amorim family since 1999. It was considered one of the 9 most beautiful Wine Estates to visit by American Airlines. You will visit the winery, built in 1764, the Wine Museum Centre, the barrel room and the underground wine cellar, where the best lots selected by the family age. After the visit, you will enjoy a wine lunch in the Conceitus restaurant, composed of a 3 Moments menu, paired with Quinta Nova wines, selected by the Winemaker.
After lunch it will be time to meet the ex-libris of Moscatel in the Douro, the Adega de Favaios, one of the most prestigious Wineries in Portugal where, since 1952. The white Galician moscatel variety is produced here, by the designation of Moscatel de Favaios, one of the most famous and emblematic Portuguese moscatel. The guided tour to the Winery main objective will be to show you how to vinify the Moscatel de Favaios. You will also have the opportunity to know the different warehouses. The visit will end with the 2 tastings in a unique setting – the traditional balseiros and barrels.
The last visit of the day will be at Quinta do Seixo, owned by Sogrape, located in Cima-Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an old wine estate, from the 19th century. The breathtaking views are a magnificent landscape, shaped by man on terraces and schist terraces, in a surprising contrast to the brightness of the Douro River and the view of the picturesque village of Pinhão. You will enjoy a tour in the winery, cellar and robotic lagars, where you will know the wine production cycle and, enjoy a tasting of 3 wines, representing the three styles of Port Wine – White, Ruby and Tawny.
In the late afternoon, you will have free time to walk in the village of Pinhão, one of the central points of the Douro Demarcated Region. This is where almost all port wine came out (and leaves). Pinhão Station is one of the places to visit. It was built in the 19th century and the tiles, which depict the Douro lands and harvest scenes, were placed in 1937. The village receives about 400,000 tourists a year. There are many wine and Douro lovers. Pinhão's landscape is within the UNESCO classification as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
For dinner our Chauffeur will suggest you some options, it is up to you to decide! However, the program recommends the DOC restaurant, a space where Chef Rui Paula, an inescapable reference of modern Portuguese cuisine, distinguished with a Michelin Star, with a modern and inventive look, makes the kitchen a historical laboratory based on several generations of culinary recipes. The wine list, with more than 700 references, contains all the great wines that are produced in the Douro. After dinner it will be time to return to the hotel.
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, with the best regional products, our guide will pick you up and take you on the 4th day of this tour, which will be in the Vinhos Verdes region.
Activities will begin at Quinta da Aveleda, a family business that, since 1870, has been dedicated to the production of wines whose quality is recognized worldwide. In addition to its important architectural heritage, Quinta da Aveleda is also known for its grand gardens, right in the heart of the Vinho Verdes region, where the vegetation has been blooming for over two hundred years, in full harmony with the surrounding vineyard. You will visit Quinta da Aveleda, on a guided tour of the facilities, winery and gardens, which will culminate in the tasting of a traditional menu Portuguese paired with Aveleda wines.
After lunch, it will be time to visit Quinta Santa Cristina, located in Celorico de Basto and with 60 hectares between vineyard and forest. It is inserted in an area of excellence for the production of genuine Green Wines, enjoying a unique environment between the mountains of Fafe, Marão, Alvão and Cabreira, and the right bank of the River Tâmega, inviting the harmony between wines and nature. You will visit the vineyards and the winery and enjoy a tasting of 3 Quinta Santa Cristina wines, accompanied by regional products.
In the late afternoon, you will have free time to walk in the beautiful city of Amarante, considered one of the most beautiful in the country and capital of the Vinho Verdes Region. The traditional streets of Amarante, with constructions in materials of the region such as granite, breathe history and Heritage, offering unique places, and monuments worthy of record such as the wonderful Convent and Church of São Gonçalo, the beautiful the imposing bridge, the Churches of St. Peter and St. Dominic, the beautiful Solar dos Magalhães or the House of Cerca.

Activities will start at Monverde Wine Experience Hotel. You will be wrapped in all your senses through the wine, the vineyard, its grape varieties, and the natural beauty of Quinta de Sanguinhedo. In the winemaker experience for 1 day, you will participate in a practical and very interactive activity, which enhances the knowledge of the grape varieties and their contribution in the production of green wines. The result will be the creation of the lot itself.
Lunch will be served at an inescapable reference of Portuguese gastronomy, in the restaurant Largo do Paço, integrated in Casa da Calçada. Awarded a Michelin Star, it is one of the best gastronomic offerings in the region.
After lunch it will be time to visit Quinta das Arcas, in Valongo, where you will know, on a guided tour, the vineyards and the processes of creating the wines. It will end with a tasting of Vinho Verde (Alvarinho), 2 Alentejo wines (DOC and Reserva), cheese board and olive oil.
At the end of a day, full of wine and gastronomic activities, it is time to return to Porto, where the drop-off will be made in the city center, hotels or at Sá Carneiro Airport.
