Enjoy the Douro on a cruise and on the Historic Train in this self-guided tour.
The program will begin at Régua Pier, where you will embark on a cruise along the Douro River to Pinhão Pier.
After arriving in Pinhão, the journey between the station and the pier takes 10 minutes and along the way you will be able to enjoy the stunning Douro landscape. Pinhão is a wine producing town, where once upon a time it was the departure point of the Rabelo Boats, which transported the wine to Oporto. The town is considered the heart of the Douro.
At the Pinhão Railway Station, you will have free time to view the beautiful tiles decorating this place, with cultural motifs of the region, where the vineyards and wine culture are celebrated.
It will then be time to board the Historic Train, charismatic Steam Locomotive 0186, built in 1925 by Henschel & Son, and start the journey along the Douro line to the town of Régua.
On this 30-minute journey, you will travel back in time and can contemplate the landscape to the sound of Douro songs.
- Boat trip between Régua and Pinhão;
- Walk through the town of Pinhão;
- Historic train ride (30 minutes);
- Return to Régua.
