About the Activity
Quinta de S. Francisco, 5 km from the city of Viseu, is a picturesque and peaceful place where you can feel the landscape. It has a vast history dating back to the 18th century, and has a manor house in the Beira region, which represents an architectural, historical and religious legacy.

With about 8 hectares of vineyard, it also houses the chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Escravos, founded in 1660, a heritage testimony to the history of Portugal in the 17th century. The estate also has an image of the saint, an example of the faith and belief of the people and the rural nobility of the time.

We invite you to get to know the project "Chão de São Francisco", which began in 1996 and remains a family business, with the dream and objective of producing and commercializing DOC wines of recognized quality. You will participate in a guided tour, with a member of the family, who will take you through the vineyards and winery, where the entire winemaking process will be explained, and through the gardens of the property, which belong to the Historic Gardens of the Portugal Route. At the end of the guided tour, you will take part in a tasting of 3 premium wines, accompanied by a board of regional cheeses, fruit compote, regional bread and a cake made with products from the estate.
