About the Activity
Cartuxa Wine Tourism is based at Quinta de Valbom,  2km from the centre of the World Heritage city of Evora and just 200m from the Cartuxa Monastery from which it takes its name.  The visitor centre is in the old refectory of the former retreat of the Jesuit Brothers who taught at Evora University in the 16th and 17th centuries. Adega Cartuxa was purchased by the Eugenio de Almeida family in the 19th century, undergoing  a number of extensions and improvements over the years, taking care to preserve its rich architectural and historic integrity.

Discover the history and unique environment of Quinta de Valbom, in a guided visit to the building where Adega Cartuxa was founded.

The visit will end with a 5 premium wine tasting, selected by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation (except Pêra-Manca Red and white Wine). You may add some region products to tastings, which consist of sausages, cheeses, jams from the region.

Adega Cartuxa, a regional landmark!

“Vale muito a pena visitar!” Fui com a esposa e um casal de amigos, local bonito com muita história, a Fundação Eugénio Almeida é muitíssimo valiosa e a ação social que praticam é louvável. Parabéns pelo trabalho. E como todos já sabem, os melhores vinhos de Portugal são encontrados lá .. Alex74, 23 ago 2020
