Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito

Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba and Alvito, C.R.L, constituted by public deed in 1960, began its activity in 1963. It is the result of a dream, effort, and work of the majority of winegrowers in the regions of Vidigueira, Cuba and Alvito, located in Alentejo, based on the experience of tradition and the recognition of reinvention, supported by a recognized and remembered quality.

Among the vineyards of the winery are the best native grape varieties, kept for several generations, from which distinguishes the caste Antão Vaz, also known as "Casta da Vidigueira", producer of a unique white, and which will be the origin of the recognized white of Alentejo.

The history of the winery goes far beyond its 50 years of existence, having ancient roots that intertwine with the history of the town itself, «the town of Vidigueira, whose etymology derives from vine, because the vineyards abound in their fertile lands, is situated on a distant twenty-two kilometres hill from Beja and twenty-five from the city of Évora, Alentejo.»
